  1. @サリシャ

lol, i would like to see the big massie smile on your face as you go through..say Mario Galaxy 2.. Seriously, i had your attitude on nintnendo, untill i actually played through Galaxy and was absolutely amazed by the quality. No other game had impressed me as much as this game. Nintnedo are well respected for a reason. Their quality, gameplay mechanics and pure ‘magic and imagination’ is untouched.

    • Frank:

Nintendo has without a doubt put quality into many of their beloved titles. They work hard to put out impressive titles ranged from Mario to Zelda. What disappoints me about Nintendo is their clear lack of great new titles. They remake and expand the same titles over and over. How many more deja vu’s must we endure to have a new mind blowing game.

Gaming has become too marketed around selling and not around the never ending creativity that is limitless in this industry. Games like Zelda are beyond fun. Until you begin playing a new title every year.

Call of Duty is a perfect example of a game that does not improve. They just change the title and add new multiplayer maps and hurrah! same game new look. I’m not asking for a franchise’s demise. Just the creative drive to bring out new titles.

  2. “How am I a tool for disliking something you are so quick to defend?”

    Well, let’s see….

“I know many people who would rather be buried alive than waste money and time on any of Nintendo’s titles. I will forever be one of them.”

This. This is what makes you a tool. Should be pretty self-explanatory. Thanks for playing.

  3. I understand that you were trying to provide your own feedback on each entry of the list, but you end up sounding like a massive douche. There’s no way you actually sat down and played all 100 of these games and you’re commenting on them as though you did. Essentially saying that NO nintendo game deserves a rank higher than #50 is fanboyism at best and being a total tool at worst. If you had played many of the games that you lombast, you’d probably agree. Same goes for PS3 exclusives; saying that Uncharted 2 is “too high” at #7 would make most modern gamers laugh. At least those of us who have actually played the game. And if it didn’t sink in when the others mentioned it, IGN only listed one game per franchise, so you could probably edit all your “where’s Bioshock 2? Assassins Creed: Brotherhood? Gears of War 2?” comments. My suggestion would be to try some objectivity next time.

    • Once again if a Nintendo game was ground breaking it could be on the list. You call me a fanboy because I have a problem with placing games like Portal 2 so high only cause it was a newer game. Uncharted 2 was a good game, but to place it where it was seemed totally political. Most these games are in cause IGN doesn’t want all the crying over games that should have been in the top 100. This list is a chicken list, and you know it. They didn’t want to actually give their top 100. This is all designed to blind the general public into believing that every IGN employee loved Kirby’s epic yarn. You gotta open your eyes and realize the Nintendo games in this list are here for comment control. That is all. Why don’t you ask IGN for the real list and than come apologize when they reveal the real list which won’t have all the arcade games that were beyond horrible.

      • So every FPS game is ground-breaking? How? Please inform us! Outside of a select few like Bioshock and puzzle FPSs like Portal 2, NONE of the FPS’s on this list are “groundbreaking.” I’ve read your own personal top 100 list. You honestly want to tell me that every game on that list is “groundbreaking?” Halo 3 is groundbreaking? No. It’s not. It’s a good game but it did absolutely nothing new. So you’re tired point of “no Nintendo games make the list because they aren’t groundbreaking” is bull and you know it. I don’t care about IGN. I don’t work for them, so I have no idea what their personal preferences are. But there were WAY more PS3 and 360 games on their list, so stop crying. It’s about 15% Wii and DS stuff and you’re crying about it! Why? It has to be 0% Nintendo stuff for you to be happy?? And who are you, exactly? You keep pounding the point that “Hey it’s just my personal opinion.” That’s fine. That was IGN’s personal opinion. This is my personal opinion; I like all 3 systems, including the Wii. Kirby’s Epic Yarn is a fantastic game. DKC Returns, Sonic Colors, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Punch-Out, Muramasa, Spectrobe: Origins, Little King’s Story, Final Fantasy: Crystal Bearers are all great games. If you weren’t such a tool and actually tried playing the game instead of posturing like a 13 year old, maybe you could see that. You can post your opinion. THat’s fine. But don’t pretend like you’re being objective when you say that “no Nintendo games deserve to be on the list.” At least make a statement like, “I don’t think any Nintendo games should be on this list because I don’t like Nintendo and I like mature games and FPS’s.” At least then you’re stating your bias. But the way you state your objectivity makes you a massive tool. Be honest.

      • FPS is completely over used. That will never change, but to say that some FPS games didn’t do ground breaking things is not fair. Halo 3 was a ground breaking game. It evolved the multiplayer that Halo 2 laid foundation on.

Just cause I refuse to waste money on Nintendo doesn’t make me a bad person. Maybe my refusal to believe that all these games that you mentioned are great is pre-mature. I have played many of the games that gamer’s declare so wonderful and wonder what makes it wonderful.

No Nintendo games deserves to be on this list without first realizing the fact that all these games are just a remake or continuation of the same over marketed franchises. Many of those games are fine, but just don’t make me all warm and fuzzy thinking about them. How am I a tool for disliking what you are so quick to defend? I know many people who would rather be buried alive than waste money and time on many of Nintendo’s titles. I am forever gonna be one of them. I love the old Nintendo games, but to defend Nintendo because you were born in the late 90’s make you the child. I was raised on classic Nintendo, and I will always be a fan of that. Not this flash from the past industry you love so.

  4. You clearly have the narrowest, most closed-minded taste in video games. It’s also pretty obvious you haven’t played a lot of the games you slammed on this list. Live a little bit. You did save me the trouble of having to run through IGN’s one-by-one version of the list, so I’ll give you that. Don’t bother responding because there’s no reason for me to come here ever again.

    • Appreciate the criticism. Just not a fan of the choices they made. A lot of games that should be on this list and aren’t. I have no problem with the games. Just seems like their are a lot of titles missing that make better top 100’s that’s all.

    • dahill is right. Most of your criticisms seem like you haven’t played most of the games you’re voting off the list.

Since what you probably need is some constructive criticism rather than just a flame, here’s some quick responses from someone who owns many of the games you think don’t belong on the list.

Let me first point out (since you didn’t notice) that there is exactly one game from each franchise on the list, and IGN apparently tried to pick what they felt was the best or most influential representative in the current gen for each franchise mentioned. You may or may not agree with their specific choices, and that’s your right, but it’s why Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood didn’t get a mention (and neither did, say, Metal Gear Solid 4, because of Peace Walker’s inclusion on the list).

You seem to have a heavy bias against downloadable games just because they’re downloadable. Braid, Flower, Pacman Championship Edition, Castle Crashers, Plants vs. Zombies, ‘Splosion Man, etc. are all fantastic games in their own right and you get what you pay for and then some with all of the downloadable titles mentioned on the list (even Shatter).

The Wii games that are on the list deserve to be there. Even Wii Sports Resort, which is possibly the most questionable choice on the entire list depending on who you ask.

Moral of the story: It’s OK to say games are good EVEN IF YOU DON’T LIKE THEM YOURSELF. No one is going to call you a bad person if you say you don’t like Angry Birds, but there’s obviously something good there when it is THE most downloaded game on iOS.
