Review – Modern Warfare 3

The word “Greedy” has been used a lot against this franchise. In some respects with good reason. Modern Warfare 3 is a copy of the 2nd installment in multiplayer. The story line, for those who play it, is still solid if not always new. The game isn’t terrible, but it isn’t great. For a long time I have wondered if Activision understands just how bad their games are. While other games like Halo and Gears of War have implemented a ranking system that works in all game types. Call of Duty just hasn’t risen up and done there part to make the story line more intriguing to the multiplayer fan.

Spec ops is their version of horde. With a completely separate ranking system. It does challenge you to make an effort, and leaves you a little more competent. Although the overall idea is a little rough it seems to be one step behind other franchises that have implemented this concept.

Campaign is a very big part of the game. It gets the most attention it seems. I always enjoy the Call of Duty campaigns. They have a pretty straight forward story line that always ends with a death. Predictable as that is, it seems like the want to leave openings for more comings and goings in the Call of Duty Story.
